VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM)

VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualized with the intent of identifying “ignited minds”, to use the words of Dr. APJ Kalam, with a scientific aptitude from amongst the student community.

VVM has its origin from the ‘Sastra Pratibha Matsaram’, a science talent search conducted by the Swadeshi Science Movement Kerala for the students of Kerala from 1991 onwards. It was then extended to include students from the Middle East and in 2011 re-restructured as VVM.

Structure

• School level examination (on-line) for juniors (6-8 classes) and seniors (9-11).


• State Level Camp for the top 20 rankers from each class: Cash prize Rs. 5,000/-, Rs. 3,000/-, and Rs. 2,000/-


• National Camp: Top two students from each class attend a two-day camp. Prizes up to Rs. 25,000/-, scholarships, internships, and visits to science labs.
